happy name day!

9

saturday, we all slept in becuz of prayer night. i also did my 1st load of laundry. now as i type am doin the second. odd thing about latvia, no one has a dryer, you just hang the clothes all over the house. so yesterday was sunday, and on sunday we go to two services. we have a service here in modona, which dan and marvin both come to, then in the evening we go to ergli. and then after ergli's church service we have youth group. so we from modona dont get home till about 10. but it stil makes for a great day. everybodys really starting to open up to me, it makes me happy. becuz i know that the lord wants to use me with the youth.  and whats even more exciting is when i get the chance to talk about being a Christian with the kids, they actually seems to be listening. which is more than i can say for some of our american youth. so i fianlly took some pictures of the church here in Modona, and some of the people too. and UndA finally let me take her picture, but i still dont have one of oscars or elvis. sorry paige, bri and shelby. but im working on it. last night on the way to church in ergli Elvis said, "i thought you were just this nice quiet girl.. but i know now that you are not" ans i said like yes i know, i love to talk so its really hard for me to just sit around and listen all the time.  in the pictures there is a group of women standing around. what are they doing you might ask? they are practicing a song that they are going to sing for church in a couple weeks, its for a lativan holiday. speaking of lativan holidays i cant remember if i wrote about this before but.  on the lativan calendar there are names written for everyday.  so whatever day your name is on its your names day which is basically another birthday. is that crap or what?! and my friens Unda has two names on the calendar so she basically gets three birthdays. what a rip off. no im just kidding but it is yet again something i have to get used to in the culture. there is also a pitcure of a little girl all dressed in pink. thats marta, shes Guna's neice. shes 4 and so cute. also there is just kind of a sunny picture of nothing. it just made me happy becuz its the first day the sun has been out since i got here. and it was pretty warm too. well as in like 45ish... idk. but yeh thats about it. today im just guna do some studying, and when the kids get out of school, im going to hang out with Elvis and Unda.
